Okay, so a bit back, I moved. No, I don't mean that we once again have a new physical address. This is a virtual move.
I've recently begun exploring and getting comfy(ish) in a couple of other tangles of this web: stagno per anitre and Pinterest.
At about the time I started trying to play around with the format here, I finally got up the nerve to move the pond to another space. However, I've done barely a thing with that space. I was to spend a lot of my alone time today packing up here and unpacking over there, but my alone time was pushed until late this evening and it has, therefore, been greatly constricted. I'll not be making a big move today, but I think I'll start composing new posts at the TypePad blog.
I can't even remember at this point how long ago it was that I started asking about which blog platforms people preferred, but I am guessing it was well over a year. I made the decision to move, but, at the same time, I didn't see the point. I have something like one regular reader, so it's not like I'm moving due to audience demands. I kept thinking that I wouldn't move until I really started putting my bloggy self out there and started building a community, but I think the time has come. And, there we have it: I have a bit of time right now. Also, I still have that hankering to occupy new space in the ether.
I have a hankering to do a lot right now and I am starting to pile up the projects and reading and learning and commitments. At the same time, I'm striving to become a more calm, kind and accepting human being. And, I am working to expand my scope of experiences.
In all, I feel about on the verge of bursting out of my skin to see how brightly I'll let myself shine. (And, yes, I know that image can be somewhat hugely disturbing, but I am imagining it as such a positive thing.)
So, as I start to figure things out for myself, as I start foster some real personal growth, I'll slowly be moving from here. I don't feel I need a completely new start (else, I would not bother moving all that I have here), but I do feel that I want to try to figure out a new set of interwebby-bloggy-workings. I think my very own learning curve with this will be steep, but I am also feeling like I'll be up for the challenge here within the next couple of months.
For all who have TypePad experience and expertise, I would appreciate any feedback, help and/or advice.
Please, feel free to visit me at my TypePad incarnation of stagno per anitre.
Also, please feel free to check out what I'm pinning over on my Pinterest boards.
I have a the always-ab fab Poke to thank for the invite to the latter site. I have only just begun to turn my bookmarks folders into boards over there. I think you'll not be surprised that much of what I've covered thus far is books I'd like to read at some point in this lifetime. I'm basing my boards on labels I use here.
Right now, though, before I pin up anything else, I'm off to expand my mind in an again different direction.

down in the funk; or, ridiculous squabbling
I've been feeling in a definite funk lately. It's one of those major rethinking funks wherein I'm wondering if I'm satisfied with my choices (and, at the same time, feeling jerky for even wondering when my life is pretty freaking fantastic). As I told Cardo the other day, I sometimes wonder if I've done things in the wrong order somehow. But, really, whose order am I looking at? Why am I even worried about this? It's not as if there is some plan out there, writ large, dictating what we all do. Anyhow, if there was, knowing the way I do things, I'd deviate from that plan. So, what's my deal? Chissa?
And, when I'm feeling in this mood, I end up questioning how I'm contributing to this family. I actually start wondering if I am even contributing, which I know is ridiculous. I know it, but I forget. Then, Cardo and I devolve into arguing over who does less. Oh, geez. I can't wait for Pic to just assert, "Hey, guys, you're being ridiculous. Things rock. Stop whining."
I really think it's just too easy for me to fall into that old American dream trap (or, what seems to be the new American dream trap). More ridiculousness! Because working endless hours to buy a bunch of crap is definitely not what I want. I want time with my family. And, yes, I could always do with some more books. But I don't want brand new cars, flat screen plasma tvs, cable/satellite/whatever, fancy new phones, a fancy new house, ecc. I want what I have. So, what the crap? I don't know.
Thanks, Mighty Interweb, I think you've just allowed me to talk myself out of my utter silliness.

daydreaming
I actually said to Cardo, earlier, 'If we had another chid (NOT that I want another child), I could homeschool our kids.'
Yes, I am/we are still very certain that our family is perfect just the way it is. There are times when I am a tiny tinge of a bit sad that Pic won't have any siblings, won't have that bond, but I stand by my decision. I've still [knock on wood] never experienced baby blues, although several people I know have gotten pregnant and have had babies since Pic's come along. Also, starting over again when I've already gotten through five years? No, thanks much. (I'm just sharing what Cardo and I want and what works for us. Lots of other people I know have/want more than one child and that's perfect for them...I only have to raise this one.)
Anyhow, there's been a lot of soul-searching type stuff going on inside of me lately. I feel like I've come back around to some kind of starting point that I lost sight of for a while. I feel like it's time to stop looking at everyone else's expectations for me (and, hey, most of these 'expectations' are mainly in my head anyhow, I know this) and start figuring out what really will be best for myself and for my family. I'm still not sure where I'm headed next, but I'm willing to gradually figure it out. I'm trying to not be so fervent in my searching for what's next.
As Poke said to me earlier, it might be nice to settle down for a bit without looking forward and stressing about what I 'need' to be doing next. In the last year, Cardo has hinted that he's wanting to settle down. As I said, I'm not sure what we'll do, but if it involves settling down now, know that we'll be doing plenty of traveling as a family (yes, even when I'm trying to focus on now, I'm dreaming about the future).
How can I possibly still have so much growing up to do at the end of my third decade on this planet?
