I recently read Brave New World for the first time and, O, the terms I learned.
Among the words I had to look up:
* viviparous (which led to me looking up ovoparous and ovovivparous)
* brachycephalic (which led to me looking up dolichocephalic)
* hypnopaedia

Chiisai is brachycephalic. :) I use that word all the time but I honestly had never seen it written out.
I knew what the term viviparous meant when I saw it but I still went and checked just in case I was wrong. :) I think it's because two of my fellow second grade teachers have their classes do reports on oviparous animals every year. I was very impressed when I first learned that word.
I wish I could learn through hypnopaedia. Just wake up and know it all, right? :)
I'm pretty sure I didn't know any of these words before (although I do get compulsive and look up words I do know just in case sometimes...I see I'm not the only one!).
I'd be down with a little hypnopaedia if I were able to choose what I was learning.
I knew viviparous, but not the others.
